+5 Homeowner Protection Plan

The +5® Homeowner’s Electrical Protection Plan is a program created by Local Union 701 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in 1988 in cooperation with the National Electrical Contractors Association. It is a voluntary extended warranty on material and workmanship that protects the wiring in a new home for an additional five years beyond the builder’s one-year warranty at no additional cost.

When a new home located in DuPage County has been wired by a Local 701 Union Electrical Contractor belonging to the National Electrical Contractors Association – who employs Union electricians from the IBEW Local 701 – the purchasing homeowner automatically receives the +5® Warranty at closing. In the unlikely event a problem arises during the five years of +5® coverage, we will promptly fix it for free.
