With the construction industry on the rise, the Construction Safety Council (CSC) is ready with new classrooms, trainers, courses and resources to provide unparalleled safety training.
The CSC in Hillside, Illinois will be moving its operations to a newer, state-of-the-art facility at 4415 W. Harrison Street, Suite 404, in Hillside. The move is scheduled to take place in early March. The Council will continue to offer courses and training materials to the construction industry in a newly designed space, including two new hands on areas to supplement the classroom instruction. No disruption of classes or services is planned.
The construction industry in the Chicagoland area is finally seeing a positive, albeit gradual, recovery. With new facilities, the CSC will be in a better position to deliver the highest quality safety training to the recovering industry. New classrooms, additional trainers to accommodate a growing demand for safety classes, added resources and more course offerings will be highlights of the new facility. The Council is expanding its customized training courses to address new areas of safety not only in construction but in general industry as well. Furthermore, Council employees are taking a fresh look at additional ways to better serve its customers.
In 2014, the Construction Safety Council will celebrate its 25th year of developing and delivering quality safety training in the construction industry. Since 1989, the Council has held over 14,000 safety classes and trained over 180,000 employees and employers, safety professionals, and consultants. CSC is also part of one of OSHA’s authorized training centers, the National Safety Education Center, specializing in the classes for construction and the development of OSHA authorized trainers. In the new offices, the Council will also continue to support the work of the Latino Worker Resource Center (ObreroLatino) within the confines of the new space. For the fourth consecutive year, the Council continues to offer free training to Latino workers through a federally funded Susan Harwood Capacity Building Grant.
