PowerForward DuPage and other major donors of the new Naperville Jaycees Park recently took part in a groundbreaking ceremony on the site at the Naperville Municipal Center. The park, which will serve as an outdoor office space, will be built next to the Naperville Riverwalk. Preliminary plans for the park call for seating, shade, Wi-Fi, charging stations, USB ports and tables. Accent lighting will illuminate the tables at night to provide safety and help prevent vandalism. Electricity for power plugs will be provided by solar panels located atop the municipal center’s roof. “It’s been widely viewed as a nice amenity for the city, and it’s something unique,” Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico said. “It will accommodate the growing need for technology and outdoor space.” PowerForward DuPage is the park’s Wi-Fi sponsor.
The park is anticipated to be completed by the Spring of 2019.
