PowerForward DuPage was recently invited to speak at Naperville North High School’s Annual Career Carnival about students considering the construction trades as a career option. Joining Executive Director Karyn Charvat on the panel were Keith Fitzgerald, owner of Fitzgerald’s Electrical Contracting and Jessie Mazzaferro, an IBEW Local 701 journeyman technician since 2015. The trio fielded questions from the students for roughly 30 minutes after each gave a description of their day-to-day responsibilities.

The students were most inquisitive about the length of the apprenticeship program, what types of jobs they could find in the electrical industry, and what potential challenges they could face. An estimated 75 students were in attendance for the 90 minute session.
