The new Sunset Ridge School, located in Northfield, serves approximately 300 students in 4th through 8th grade. The 70,000-square-foot school opened in September 2017 and is LEED-certified. The building’s layout is centered on a “village square” concept, which includes a high school regulation-size gymnasium, dining, performance space and library. An outdoor common space with picnic tables and a playground sits at the center of the school.
In addition to doing the electrical installation for this state of the art educational facility, Fitzgerald’s Electrical Contracting was also selected to install an extensive rooftop solar array with the goal of allowing students to actively monitor and study energy production and consumption. The inverter representative that commissioned the site before the opening mentioned that it was one of the best installations he’d seen and the only recommendation he wrote into his report for this project was “Use Fitzgerald’s Electrical Contracting again.” What an incredible testimonial to what we know was a project completed with impeccable attention to detail and exceptional customer service.
Solar Array Highlights
- System size: 434.5 kW-DC
