The Board of Directors of the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council (CCSC) recently announced the appointment of Ms. Gayla Hurson to the position of Executive Director.
Ms. Hurson knows the Council well having worked there in various capacities for 25 years. Most recently she served as the Interim Executive Director. Prior to that, she performed the duties of Administrative Director for over 20 years.
Over the past year, Ms. Hurson guided the Council through several major changes. She oversaw the sale of the former office building on Madison and the subsequent move to fresh offices and classrooms at the new location in Hillside. Under her guidance, the Council took advantage of the recent industry slowdown to re-examine and reinvent its programs and update materials resulting in new online course offerings, an increase in outreach trainers and new resources available to the construction industry.
With the construction industry finally seeing resurgence in the Chicagoland area, Ms. Hurson plans to lead the Council into the future with updated construction safety courses, new financial models, new marketing strategies, and enhanced resource management. Because of her efforts, the Council is prepared to offer quality training and resources for employees as well as construction management addressing all the new challenges facing the construction industry.
