Connelly Electric partnered with Power Construction to construct the Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital new Private Patient Bed Tower, located in Downers Grove, IL.
The new Bed Tower renovation contains 96 private patient rooms spread over three stories with 114,900 SF of clinical space above the existing three-story tower. The new patient rooms are nearly double the size of traditional rooms and include pull-out sleeper sofas for the comfort of family members who may want to stay with their loved ones. In addition, each room contains natural light to promote healing and wellness.
Completed in 2017, Connelly Electric was able to successfully complete this healthcare project while working closely with not only the general contractor and design teams throughout each phase of construction but also directly with the hospital’s construction and facilities teams to help coordinate and ensure the work performed was completed without any interruption to the hospital systems, staff, or patients.
As part of the success of this fast paced complex project, Connelly Electric’s experienced team of management, engineers, and field staff utilized BIM coordination, Trimble layout, and Pre-Fabrication to not only meet but exceed the schedule and project requirements. Along with the electrical systems, Connelly completed the voice/data, fiber optic, nurse call, paging, and fire alarm systems. This new state of art technology will improve patient safety and make patient care more efficient for physicians and nurses.
The project was successfully completed on time with zero injuries and over 49,000 man hours worked.
