On a blustery cold and stormy Saturday in early November, Fitzgerald’s Electrical Contracting once again teamed up with members of the IBEW Local 701, providing much-welcomed assistance to the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise during the setup and installation of this year’s Naper Lights located at Naper Settlement. This elite team of electrical professionals started meeting with the Rotarians back in September in an effort to streamline the setup process, a move that paid off as installation went much smoother and faster than in years past, despite the inclement weather.

Naper Lights features dozens of giant lighted holiday figures along the pathways of Naper Settlement including illuminated ice skaters, large animated displays of elves and reindeer, a caroling family and children building a giant snowman. Each year brings something new to see and hear as animated light displays synchronized to music have been expanded in 2017. The holiday extravaganza also features what may be DuPage County’s largest holiday tree on display with this year’s tree topping out at 43 feet!

“It has now become an annual tradition for PowerForward DuPage to be involved as the Illumination Sponsor and our guys really look forward to it, said Karyn Charvat, Executive Director of PowerForward DuPage. “Between our electricians who sign up in advance to attend the setup and installation day and the commitment of Keith Fitzgerald and his crew, we are truly providing a service to the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise, in addition to giving back to the community where many of our members and contractors live and work. Our team consulted on the layout of the event and were instrumental in organizing and connecting the array of giant displays, candy canes, light poles and walkways, and the star attraction, the Giant Holiday Tree!”

Naper Settlement is also home to the only suburban Christkindlmarket, a traditional European open-air holiday market, featuring ornaments, gifts and décor, food, music and traditional mulled wine.  Admission to Naper Lights and Christkindlmarket is free; visit naperlights.com and napersettlement.org for more details.
