Over 225 students, parents, educators and area residents attended the 2019 DuPage County Trade Apprenticeship Expo on Thursday, May 30th, 2019. The event was co-sponsored by the DuPage County Building & Construction Trades Council and CISCO (Construction Industry Service Corporation) and hosted by PowerForward DuPage.

Attendees started arriving at 3:00pm; we were amazed to see the streams of people that quickly filled the hall! Attendees had the opportunity to interact with 16 of DuPage County’s building and construction trade organizations and to learn about each organization’s apprenticeship program. People lined up at several booths, waiting for the opportunity to speak with someone. It was encouraging to see the level of interest the crowd seemed to have in learning more about the trades and one could feel the energy throughout the atrium!

New to the event this year was the Illinois IBEW Solar Roadshow vehicle, created and managed by the Illinois IBEW Renewable Energy Fund, which promotes the safe, productive and sustainable growth of renewable energy systems in Illinois The fully customized truck provides solar education “on the road” – what an incredible exhibit. It was definitely a crowd favorite!
